Its a 2 days and 1 night safari trip, meaning that you will enter the national park two times, on day one and on day 2. Located 283 km west of Dar es Salaam, the park was established in 1964 and up to now is widely considered as the country’s 4th largest national park. Meals and accommodation is included.
Our two days safari to Nyerere National Park in southern Tanzania is a short African Safari with only one overnight at the national park, and has Boat Safari and Game Drives in the park as key activities. Suitable for safari enthusiasts' and new travellers coming to Zanzibar and Tanzania. Our team of tour guide and tour driver will pick you at your hotel in Dar Es Salaam or the Ferry station (if starting from Zanzibar) and after the safari your will also be dropped off at your hotel or ferry station. We also welcome expatriates and locals in Dar Es Salaam to book with us, with special discounted prices available for them.
This private safari begins and ends in Dar Es Salaam. Customers can also select to start from Zanzibar and travel to Dar Es Salaam by the morning Ferry or fly directly from Zanzibar to Selous Mtemere Air strip. Please note that ferry or flight fare is not included in this package.
You will visit Nyerere National Park, which is one of the hidden gems of the East African wildlife safari circuit, located in the southern part of Tanzania. You will be able to witness many wild animals, and flora, and hear birds chirping as you move closer to nature. On the first day you will arrive and have your lunch at your selected lodge/ Camp before going for the afternoon Boat Safari with your guide.

Enjoy a visit to the Mikumi National Park & the nearby Maasai cultural village.
Mikumi national park itself is about six (6) hours’ drive from Dar es Salaam, the commercial hub city of Tanzania, with the road journey quite comfortable in a 4*4 jeep or Toyota Alphard vehicles. The journey gives you an authentic view of life and landscapes of Tanzania and Africa in general as you meander through towns such as Kibaha and Morogoro having a road view of life in African rural and peri-urban centres.
As you reach Mikumi region, before even reaching the park entry gates, animals by the road side will announce your arrival. See lots of Zebras, Impalas and Giraffes grazing a few meters away from the road.
With 3,230 square kilometers coverage, Mikumi National Park is a well-established national park in Tanzania’s southern tour circuit. The park is well-known for its population of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, elands, antelopes, Kudus, wildebeest, and lions. At the Mikumi Hippo pool, you will see not only hippos but crocodiles and birds.

3 days and 2 nights in Mikumi national park with Dar es Salaam start. If in Zanzibar, book your morning ferry to Dar es Salaam and we will pick you up at the ferry station at 8:30am and start the transfer to Mikumi Park.
Day One: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi transfer in a comfortable Van with air condition. Stop for lunch in Morogoro town. On arrival in Mikumi, enter the park gates with our 4*4 safari jeep and enjoy an afternoon of animal sighting, game drives, and nature viewing, combined, giving you a great wildlife experience.
Day two: After your hot breakfast, enter the park for a full day of safari game drives. Popular animals found in Mikumi include giraffes, antelopes, zebra, buffalos, elephants, wildebeests, and lions. Stop for lunch at the restaurant inside the park, where you will have a rest and stress your legs.
Accommodation: Select your accommodation between the newly built Double G Safari lodge, or the classic Mantis lodge, both located a few kilometers from the park gates.
Day three: Enjoy your hot breakfast and then start the transfer back to the city of Dar es Salaam with our transfer team of driver and tour guide. Take in rural Tanzania as you cruise along the Morogoro - Mikumi road and the Dar es Salaam - Morogoro road. Enjoy a hot lunch along the way in one of the numerous small peri-urban towns you will pass by.
You will visit Mikumi NP during your safari and go on a two-day game drive. After that, on the
third day, proceed to a Masai village for a cultural excursion. After that, you’ll transfer to Morogoro, where you’ll go on a
personal trekking excursion in the Uluguru highlands the next morning. The lodgings are comfortable and mid-range, have a pool, and are well-known and well-liked by many tourists that come to this part of the country.
This is a 4 days and 3 nights African Safari tour to the beautiful Nyerere national park in Tanzania, formally named Selous Game Reserve. This tour has 2 full days in the national park, giving you a lot of time to enjoy the wildlife in the park. There is also a Boat Safari in the Rufiji river with our small boats, where you will observe hippos, crocodiles, and birds and you cruise across the length of the mighty river.
