The tour offers you the opportunity to visit the Mikumi National Park which has over time progressed to be a wildlife safari destination filled with amazing activities. In addition to this, you will also visit Nyerere NP also known as Selous Game Reserve. At Selous GR, you will do game drive, Boat safari and also a morning hike (2hrs walk) for those who are interested.
Meet at your hotel in Dar es Salaam at 6:00 / 6:30 am and transfer to Nyerere National Park(Selous Game Reserve).
Our tour guide/driver will drive you from Dar–es- salaam to Nyerere National Park. You will be dropped to the lodge for check in and lunch. Later afternoon, you will head for a boat safari along the Rufiji River. You will discover the Rufiji River by boat, encounter hippos and crocodiles in good numbers.
You will also see almost 350 bird species that have been recorded in the Selous Game Reserve. These are typical of Miombo woodlands, and the bird life supported by Rufiji swamp lands is of particular interest.

After breakfast, you head for early morning (Sun rise) game drive till sunset with packed lunch box. Today you will be able to see and experience the authentic and beauty of African wildlife. Selous Game Reserve is the largest in Africa, covering 54,600 square kilometer. Because the reserve is famous for it large number of elephants, so you will see many of them.
You will also see lions, wild dogs, buffaloes, bush buck, impalas, elands, baboons, zebras and greater kudu. Our 4×4 vehicles safari cars will allow you to have good photographic activities and the chance to explore different sections of the park. In noon, you will have a picnic lunch break where your guide will select a location with shade and water nearby to watch animals coming to drink – a place with a clear view all round so that no predator can creep up unseen!

This walk is optional, for people who want to take a morning walk in Selous. Walks are slow-paced, accompanied by both an armed ranger and our expert guide, and are around 1 hour long. You will leave the camp at 6.30 am for a walking safari. Our driver will drive you to the entrance gate of the Selous NP where you will meet an armed ranger and begin the walk. During the walk, you can get closer to nature and learn more about the small species and the bush itself.
It’s an unforgettable experience to walk within such a vast and untamed area of the natural reserve. Although you may spot some giraffes or walk in the footsteps of elephants, our walking safaris are tailored to give you the opportunity to learn about the things you missed during the game drive or boat safari- the ecosystem that the animals live in. You will learn to identify animal tracks and signs and hear fascinating information about insects, trees, and colorful bird life.

Early morning game drives at Mikumi park and enjoy the sunrise while seeing a different kinds of wildlife. This tour starts very early while animals are still actively looking for food and water. Experience the morning life of African wildlife. Continue with the game drive till evening, and exit the national park. Lunch will be served inside the park, where you will experience the authenticity of African wildlife while eating your lunch.
Late afternoon you will do a game drive with a sunset view and watch the animals drink water at the hippo pool. It will offer you an opportunity to explore and see the wildlife in their natural habitat. Some of the prominent features to seek after in the game drive include the artificial hippo pools filled with a huge group of hippos.
After breakfast, do game drive till afternoon and then exit the park and head to Masai village for a cultural tour. As we know, you will see how the Masai live and learn few things about their culture and customs. If times allow, you will pass by local women’s market. After Masai tour, transfer to Mororgoro Town for overnight at Simbamwenni Tented Camp.
Our incredible guide will pick you or meet you at the starting point and hiking to Choma waterfalls. He will be able to explain everything you need to know and show you his knowledge about medicines plants and Birds. Best way to get close to local people in the mountains, a day in Morogoro to fill while waiting for a transfer in or out of town? A hike in the Uluguru Mountains to Choma Waterfall or all the way to Lupanga Peak (2150m above sea level) is a great way to spend the day!
This is more of a walk through the villages on a steep dirt trail than it is a true “hike” through treacherous terrain. The hike will take 2 hrs. You will also have lunch box, with snack and fruits to enjoy during the hike. After the hike you will begin your journey back to Dar es salaam city.
