6 Days / 5 Nights Serengeti Migration Safari

Safari Overview

This is a 6 – Day private safari in northern Tanzania. The highlight of this safari will be the 3 days and 3 nights spent at Serengeti national park to witness the migration of animals from Serengeti towards the Mara river in the north. You will also visit Tarangire national park and the Ngorongoro crater.

Safari Itinerary

DAY 01: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Arrival in Tanzania and transfer to Arusha. At that airport you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to Mvuli Hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 02: Arusha city – Tarangire National Park

Our driver guide will meet up with you at your hotel in Arusha after your breakfast. You will then be driven to Tarangire national park. Tarangire National Park has some of the highest population density of elephants as compared to anywhere in Tanzania, and its sparse vegetation, strewn with baobab and acacia trees, makes it a beautiful and distinctive location to visit. The park takes its name from the river that flows across the length of the park.

Tarangire is famous for elephants, birds (550 species), leopards, huge baobab trees, and is very rich in flora and fauna.

DAY 03: Ngorongoro crater

After breakfast, you will travel through the adventurous trail that takes you into the Ngorongoro crater. Grass steppes and acacia forests are home to almost all the species of animals found in the East African savannah. In only a few hours driving from Tarangire NP, you will have the chance of spotting the big five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros and leopard.

Designated as a World Heritage site, the crater measures 259km2, and is surrounded by walls towering to 610m. The mineral-rich crater floor – enclosed on all sides – has virtually formed its own ecosystem. From forested walls to grassy plains, and woodlands to lakes, the diversity of habitats are home to a wide variety of bird and animal life, in large numbers. You will get an opportunity to see predators such as lion, hyena, jackal and bat-eared fox, the cheetah and leopard. Lunch would be at hippo pool picnic site.

After extensive game viewing and a picnic in the crater, you will leave the highlands of Ngorongoro in the afternoon and travel back to Karatu town for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Tloma Lodge (1 Family Room).
