Day 3: Karatu Lodge to Lake Manyara then back to Arusha

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park with your packed lunch for a full day of game viewing. Lake Manyara Park is located on the way to Ngorongoro crater and the Serengeti. We have purposely passed it on our way to Ngorongoro on Day 2 so as to arrive nice and early at the crater, and enable you to explore Manyara on Day 3 as we head back to Arusha. It is said that Lake Manyara is a great introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. Here you will find over 400 bird species, large and small. You are sure to see the pink-hued flamingos as they are in thousands at the lake shore, and other large birds such as the Pelicans, Storks, and Cormorants.

Animals at Manyara – The Lake Park is home to the famous tree climbing Lions – Yes, tree climbing. They turn the trees to their home during the rainy season. It is also home to the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world. Apart from the famous lions and the marauding baboons, other game to be seen here are Elephants, Bushbuck, Giraffes, Zebras, hyenas, mongoose and many more. The park stretches for 500km along the rusty-gold 600-metre-high base of the Rift Valley.

After the game, we will drive you back to Arusha town for further plans of your own. Many of our clients usually connect to the spice islands of Zanzibar after touring the wildlife parks. Our team can make these booking arrangements for you if interested.
